Lagos ( / ˈ l ɑː ɡ oʊ s / LAH -gohs , / ˈ l eɪ ɡ ɒ s / LAY -gos ) [ 6 ] [ 7 ] [ 8 ] [ 9 ] is a port and the most populous city in Nigeria .
